It all began in 1862. With the Poschacher family's stables, which soon gave way to the former Hotel Post. This became a hospital, a police station, another hospital and, fortunately, a hotel again in the end. Our history? Moving!
And then the time had come: the stable had to make way and the first "Hotel Post" was built. A marble plaque next to the entrance commemorates this historic moment, the laying of the foundation stone of a hotel that even then had the walls that still surround the hotel lobby today.

The first dining and dance hall is built on the south side. This is where people dance, laugh and celebrate life. The starting signal for legendary nights.
The hotel passes from the mother to her daughter Theresia Auer. A few years later, the hotel passes to another daughter, Maria Hilzensauer.
The hotel accommodates very unfortunate guests, it serves as a reserve hospital for the wounded soldiers of the First World War.
The old brewery meadow is transformed into tennis courts. Sport and glamor in the middle of Zell. Anton Karlon becomes the new owner
War again and no need for a vacation hotel. In 1943, the Hotel Post becomes a military recreation home and reserve hospital.
The dining room becomes a small theater with 450 seats.
The hotel business is back in full swing. On the street side (today Schlossplatz) was the "Taverne", a notorious nightclub and the "Bräustüberl" restaurant; on the main road side were stores. 1961 And again the daughters take over the hotel - this time the "Hotel Neue Post". It goes to Hedda, Brita and Villa Ketschek.
Owner Tilla Paur (née Ketschek) and her husband Remus run the house. The state of the building is so bad that it looks like a ruin in places. Which prompted a guest present at the time to ask: "If this is the Neue Post, what did the Alte Post look like?".
The major refurbishment begins. The flagship store gets a new look and we prepare for the next chapter.
New restaurant, pub, apartments and over 60 beds - the family is growing, and with it the possibilities.
The TSH (association) era is over - the association and fruit enjoyment owner terminates the contracts with the hotel and has to file for bankruptcy in summer 2006.
HNP GmbH with managing director Harald Bruckner buys the previously rented parts, expands and renovates the hotel and the wellness area. A new hotel lobby, a new bar, new rooms and garage entrances are created.
Nadia Bruckner and Darijo Vujicic open the Neue Post - Upside Downtown Hotel. A traditional hotel that has reinvented itself - modern, different, fresh and ready for the next adventure.
